Navigating from Your Authentic Self

About IFS

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is based on the understanding that we’re all made up of parts and a Self. This Self is wise, compassionate, calm and confident. We sometimes run into difficulty when our parts get so loud we can’t hear our Self offering clarity and a sense of connection to us. IFS helps us befriend our challenging parts so we learn to find that inner state of curiosity and calm. It is a gentle process of getting to be our own best friend and discovering we really do have the answers we seek.

There is much available material about IFS, and you are free to investigate for yourself at www.IFS-institute.com.

About Kelly

I’ve been working in the field of psychology for 25 years as an instructor, therapist and learner. I am a Level I Certified IFS Practitioner. I retired from clinical counseling about 12 years ago to focus on teaching psychology at the college level. Outside psychology, I am a licensed marine captain and my specialty is coaching women in sailing. Presently I sail, read the Tarot, teach, and partner with individual clients to help them get unstuck. I value connection and insight probably more than anything else.

In IFS sessions, I view my role as Self-energy holder and facilitator, so you may discover your own interior connection in a way that brings ease and space to your inner world.  It is my intention to be a help; a gentle friend along your path. I am not here to direct or tell you what to think. I am here to help you feel like you can come home to yourself.

See the parts of you that need the most love - and be able to bring them that love.

Scheduling and Pricing

  • Sessions are held on Zoom, so we can meet from the comfort of your own quiet space.

  • Sessions take about an hour and a quarter (about 75 minutes) and are $110, direct pay, no insurance.

  • Payment can be made through Zelle, AppleCash and Venmo.

  • I employ a sliding scale, coming down to as low as $70 per session. If you feel you need help and money really is a barrier, please talk with me before you turn away.

  • Sometimes it’s nice to metaphorically “drive the boat through the anchorage before picking a place.” That’s what the first session is for.

  • In this session we’ll discuss your goals and what’s troubling you, and figure out if we’re a good match. We’ll also establish payment and a schedule of sessions.

  • The first session is 30 minutes and is free of charge.
